February, 2016 event: Cut Costs Using 1E Lifecycle Automation Software

CIC hosted another technical/networking event at the Tillyard Conference Center in Calgary.

Our guest speaker was Émile Cabot.

Through presentations and demo’s, Émile clarified how businesses can achieve significant implementation and licensing cost reduction by using the 1E suite for software lifecycle automation.

The 1E suite contains the following products:

  • Nomad has been re-engineered for System Center 2016 to deliver large software and OS deployments without the need for a complex hierarchy and multiple distribution points.
  • Nightwatchman not only provides the ability to control power state across the enterprise, but also to tabulate energy savings and consumption reports suitable for carbon credits.
  • Shopping brings a full self-serve solution to end users, allowing them to request virtually any resource from a simplified web portal.
  • AppClarity rationalizes software usage, providing many options to ensure unused licenses are reclaimed and dramatically reducing licensing costs.  Integrating Shopping and AppClarity provides the added benefit of Application Mapping:  The ability to automatically upgrade/replace installed software during OS deployment.

We expect to make Émile’s slide deck available in the Member Area on this site soon.
