With what has been a hot start to summer in Calgary, we are also optimistic the early signs our economy is warming up as well! Challenging times may very well linger for the short term, but with oil prices steadily rising, the folks at the Global Petroleum Show did showcase the passion of Albertans, as they made every effort to help connect job seekers with employers still in the hunt for the very best candidates. Given the current economic climate, the 25% reduction in exhibitors in 2016 compared to recent years should not be seen as discouraging.
With this in mind, this summer can provide an excellent opportunity to take advantage of using any newfound spare time to expand intellectual prowess and also consider attending the numerous local networking events. The CIC is here to assist and is driven to help our members connect with the right resources. Now’s the time!

CIC is excited to announce some recent changes to our Board of Directors:
Adam Oruclar (Territory Development Manager with Long View Systems), new member with a passion for both Calgary and IT, has been elected as Secretary of the Board of Directors.
Elka Dunnette (Account Executive with ITnorth.ca, Director with CalSPOUG and IAMCP Calgary Chapter Representative), new member and our first female VP, has been elected to the community.
Frank-Michael Hofmann (Data Centre Technician with Rogers Data Centres), new member and volunteer for our website updates.
