April 15, 2025 – Optimizing Document Management in an AI/Copilot-Enabled Modern Workplace & Microsoft Purview Information Protection

ABOUT OUR EVENT

Efficient document management is essential for maximizing productivity and ensuring seamless collaboration in a modern workplace. This session will explore best practices for document tagging, the importance of flattening file structures, and strategies to speed up indexing in an AI/Copilot-enabled environment. Attendees will learn how these practices can enhance the performance of Microsoft 365 (M365) storage and significantly reduce file search times.
Furthermore, the session will provide insights into leveraging Microsoft Purview for data governance, including basic Data Loss Prevention (DLP) capabilities and when to consider purchasing Purview licenses to better control data governance. By the end of this session, attendees will be equipped with practical knowledge to train their clients on Microsoft’s recommended best practices for document management, tagging, and leveraging Purview for enhanced data governance, leading to improved storage performance and reduced file search times.

Microsoft Purview Information Protection (MPIP) is a Microsoft rights management solution that enables a rights-based access to assets including PDF documents. Adobe Acrobat Pro/Standard and Reader desktop apps support consistent viewing of PDFs protected by Microsoft Purview Information Protection.
For organizations standardizing on MPIP, Adobe has launched a native experience to apply and edit Information Protection sensitivity labels and policies to their PDFs within the desktop version of Acrobat Pro/Standard. Some of the Adobe Acrobat data protection and information governance features extend to users with M365 Business Premium licenses. Dave will highlight how to leverage these features.

Key takeaways include understanding the fundamentals of document tagging and its role in organizing and securing content within M365, and learning best practices for tagging, including the use of content types, site columns, and term sets. The session will also cover the importance of flattening complex hierarchical file structures into simpler formats to improve navigation and indexing speed. Additionally, attendees will discover strategies to optimize indexing in an AI/Copilot-enabled environment, ensuring quick and accurate retrieval of documents.
