Nov. 25, 2025 – Kevin Ripa – AI: Downsides and Misconceptions

Nov. 25, 2025 - AI - Downsides and Misconceptions - with Kevin Ripa

ABOUT OUR EVENT

We can’t seem to have a conference, talk, or presentation anymore, unless it has the term “AI” in the title. Students cheat on exams with it. Workers create reports with it. Teachers create content with it. Lawyers submit briefs with it. But we as humans are way too trusting. Just like we trust Zuckerberg, Microsoft, and Google way too much with our data, we are trusting AI to tell us the truth. This talk is the AI talk you won’t hear anywhere else. Instead of hearing about all the greatness that AI brings, I will be talking about the side of AI you don’t know about. How and why AI shouldn’t be trusted to get it right, and why the terms we use are incorrect and perilous. We are losing our ability to think and reason on our own. Maybe we need a wake up call.
